Grants.gov is the main source to find and apply for federal government grants.

The Catalog, compiled and maintained by the General Services Administration (GSA), profiles all Federal grant programs and lists specific contacts for obtaining additional information and application forms. It also includes a helpful section on writing grant applications.

A database of funding opportunities in biomedical research and science education. Includes information on research funding programs for graduate and medical students, postdoctoral fellows, and junior faculty, as well as programs in science, math, engineering, and technology for undergraduate faculty and students. Registration is free and provides access to a searchable, continuously updated funding resource.

An excellent source of information on private foundations, corporate grantmakers, grantmaking public charities, and community foundations. The Foundation Center provides:

  • 1,700 annotated links to grantmaker Web sites,
  • searches for a private foundation's tax return (form 990-PF), and
  • address and basic information for more than 61,000 private and community foundations in the U.S.

AGM is the regional association of grantmakers and the premier organization in New England supporting nonprofits engaged in corporate and foundation fundraising. AGM provides a library that includes all major Foundation Center publications, copies of foundation guidelines, annual reports, newsletters, periodicals on philanthropy, and tax.

The University subscribes to two funding opportunity databases, both of which are available to users from computers with Harvard IP addresses.

A user-friendly database, searches can be initiated through general keywords (Quick search) or specific criteria categories (Advanced search). Available to anyone with a Harvard IP address.
