Insurance Department

Insurance is responsible for administering the Self-Insurance and Commercial Insurance Programs for the University, separate entities and various affiliates. The Insurance Department oversees the investigation of all claims and suits as well as the negotiation of any third-party settlements. From a University-wide perspective, the Insurance Department monitors compliance with risk management policies and procedures and acts as an advisor to the University and its affiliates in situations relating to exposure, risk and insurance.

The Insurance Department is able to assess department's current insurance levels and ensure they meet needs. We are also able to assist departments in acquiring specific insurance for an event, vehicle, material acquisition or transfer.
