Harvard Travel Center Fee Increase back
to top
Unfortunately, due to increased energy costs
and continued reductions in airline commissions to travel agents,
periodic fee increases are unavoidable. Please be advised that
as of July 9, 2001 the Harvard Travel Center service fee increased
from $20 to $27 for all non-shuttle tickets issued.
The ticket fee for all Delta Shuttle tickets
will remain at $40 but will be "fee-free" if purchased through
the Delta SkyCard program. Information regarding enrollment
in the SkyCard program is available at the Harvard University
Travel web site at: http://www.travel.harvard.edu/center/skycard.html
A Reminder: The Harvard Travel Center
offers discounts on most major airlines, Amtrak, and many hotels
and car rental companies. These discounts, which represent more
than $4 million in savings annually, can be negotiated because
of the continued support of the Harvard University community.
The more Harvard Travel Center is used, the more purchasing
power we have and the more we stand to save. Please direct your
questions or comments to Jack Healey (jack_healey@harvard.edu,

Bug Alert: Saving a Journal in
Oracle General Ledger back
to top
While trying to save a journal,
you may get messages warning you that debits do not equal credits
or that there is a control total violation. In the past, you
could select No to discontinue saving the journal and make changes
to it. Right now, if you discontinue saving your journal, the
journal can no longer be saved.
To avoid this from happening
to you, continue saving at a Decision screen and reopen your
journal to make any changes.
Example: Your journal
is unbalanced. Debits are not equal to Credits. Upon saving
your journal, you get the following Decision screen:

At this
point, you should click Yes. This will save your journal.
To make any changes, reopen your journal.
What happens
if you click No? When you try to save your journal again,
you will receive the following Error screen:

At this point, you should call
the UIS Helpdesk at 6-2001 for help with saving your journal.
A Helpdesk analyst or General Ledger "Tier 2" support staff
member will call you back.
We are currently working with
Oracle to find a resolution. Until a fix can be put into place,
please remember to save your journal if you get one of these
messages.
