HUCTW Floating Holiday Award and Retro Pay Quick Reference
For FY 2011, the HUCTW contract called for the award of 1 extra Personal Day for employees covered by the contract (see sample calculation below) that can be used as time off with pay if used prior to June 30th, 2011. This floating holiday will be awarded and credited to an employee's floating holiday balance on Monday, August 16th.
Employees covered by the HUCTW contract were also awarded a flat increase amount to wages for FY 2011 that was processed retroactively for the pay period of 7/1/2010 - 7/10/2010. The retroactive pay will be netted into paychecks dated 8/13/2010.
Floating Holiday Award
Calculation
The amount of floating holiday is based on the following calculation:
Standard Weekly Hours / 5 = Award Amount
Example: John Harvard is scheduled to work 35 hours per week. His floating holiday award is 7 hours based on the calculation below:
35/5 = 7 hours

Note: If there was a floating holiday balance prior to August 16th, the award will be added to the current balance.
Taking Your Floating Holiday
The floating holiday must be taken prior to June 30, 2011. When requesting the time off, report it as FHT - Floating Holiday Taken
