Sponsored System Updates

What is GMAS?

Grants Management Application Suite (GMAS)

On June 18, 2011, a new release (1_29) was installed in GMAS that included several enhancements. Highlights include:

  • A new segment status of Not Funded has been introduced; this new status indicates projects that were submitted to sponsor, but not funded. Not Funded projects are those in which all requests are in a terminal status (example: Rejected by sponsor, Closed, Withdrawn, Declined per Harvard University). Projects in Not Funded status can be selected for revised submission.
  • A new feature has been added to allow super users the ability to "rollback" requests in the following statuses: Submitted to sponsor, Rejected by sponsor, Closed, Withdrawn, Declined per Harvard University. Rollback will bring the request back to the previous status and can then be modified or deleted. Note: system-to-system (S2S) requests cannot be rolled back if in Submitted to sponsor status.
  • A new person approval has been added to the Person module to track responsible conduct of research (RCR) training. The new screen captures the following data for online and in person RCR training:
    • Granting institution
    • Completion date
    • Expire date
    • Comments
    • Course Name
    • Instructor Name

In addition to the June GMAS release, there were three exception releases installed to address system-to-system (S2S) performance issues and support the year-end Letter of Credit process. Check out the full release notes here.

The next release of GMAS is scheduled for fall 2011 and will include a major upgrade of the document repository, among some other enhancements and bug fixes. More information to come.

Harvard Institutional Review Board Electronic Reporting Tool (HIRBERT)

On June 25, 2011, a new release (1.0.15) was installed in HIRBERT and included several enhancements. Check out the full release notes here.
